  • Trauma is one of the leading causes of death in the workplace. Life-threatening emergencies can happen fast, and emergency responders aren’t always nearby. With the proper equipment, employees may be able to save a life by taking simple actions immediately. This 3-hour seminar focuses on five essential actions for employees including, moving someone away from ongoing danger, positioning the injured so they can breathe, stopping life-threatening bleeding, keeping them warm, and providing comfort.

  • Fortis Group has helped dozens of businesses mitigate their odds of workplace violence by educating employees on how to identify, report and successfully manage these volatile situations. This 2-hour workshop is designed to be delivered to all employees in an efficient, yet informative format. Discussion topics involve prevention, risk reduction, threat management, workplace relations, and liability reduction.

  • Given today’s ever-changing threat environment, preparing for and training employees to cope with workplace violence should be a key piece of an organization’s incident response planning. Using a simple training approach this 2-hour workshop helps companies better prepare their employees, regardless of industry, on how to respond in the event of an active assailant arriving on-site. Topics include a general overview and types of active shooter events, active shooter profiles, individual survival guidance, planning, policy, training, and physical security enhancements, and trauma equipment considerations.   • This workshop provides guidance to individuals and organizations on how to improve security in the workplace. Employees are often the target of threats as well as the organization's first line of defense against them. Threats endanger the confidentiality, integrity, and security of your workplace, as well as your virtual workplace and computer systems. This course presents information on how employees can contribute to organizational security. Upon completing this course, the participant will be able to identify potential risks to security, describe methods to improve workplace security and determine the actions to take in response to a security situation.

  • This lecture-based course arms employees with information and techniques to help them avoid becoming a victim of assault crimes. This 2-hour lecture-based workshop provides information regarding violent crime and predatory behavior and raises personal safety awareness, avoidance techniques and simple considerations to defend and escape an assault.

  • The Personal Defense Readiness program will dramatically increase one’s confidence and confrontation management skills utilizing a proven mindset, and fear management strategies. All concepts taught in this 3-hour hands-on workshop can be used by anyone, regardless of age or gender. This is a hands-on self-defense skill practice course.

  • Workplace substance abuse affects all businesses, regardless of size or industry. Statistics indicated that 12.3 million American adults who are current illicit drug users, 9.4 million (77 percent) are employed. This two-hour workshop, delivered by a narcotics enforcement expert, explores the social implications of illicit drug use, misuse of prescription drugs related to the cycle of addiction, and how to identify the signs of an employee working while they are under the influence. Policy considerations are also explored.

  • The opioid crisis is one of the most pressing public health issues plaguing our country today. The epidemic is particularly troublesome in Michigan, as state data show that from 1999-2015, the number of opioid-related deaths increased 13-fold. Delivered by narcotics enforcement experts, this 2-hour workshop addresses the misuse and abuse of opioids, the cycle of opioid addiction and how to manage an overdose event.
